Energy Price Guarantee

To support with the Cost of Living Crisis, the government have implemented an energy price guarantee. This means that the unit cost of gas and electricity is capped so that the typical household in Britain will pay around £2,500 per year on their energy bill for the next 2 years.

It is important to note that households with non-typical usage could pay more or less than this amount. For example, larger households that require more energy will likely pay more than £2,500 per year.

This guarantee is in addition to other schemes such as the Energy Bills Support scheme, Winter Fuel Payments and the Cost of Living payments.

You do not need to apply for this guarantee or any other government cost of living schemes, they are applied automatically. If you get a message telling you that you need to apply or asking for personal details, this could be a scam. You can report suspicious activity to Gov.uk.
