Are you or someone you know eligible for Pension Credit?
We’re asking people across the district to check to see if they, or their elderly family members or friends, are eligible to get help with everyday living costs by applying for Pension Credit. Some people of pensionable age may need help to apply online or they could go to Age Concern who are offering their support.
Please also see our previous post about Pension Credit which includes support from Age UK.
Pension Credit gives you extra money to help with your living costs if you are over State Pension age and on a low income. It can also help with housing costs such as ground rent or service charges.
You may get extra help if you’re a carer, severely disabled, or responsible for a child or young person. You can get it even if you have other income, savings or you own your own home.
Pension Credit is separate from the State Pension and if someone is eligible, they may also get help with housing benefit, winter fuel payments, Council Tax, free TV licence (if over 75 years old) and more.
